http://widk.com/2012/02/28/mother-murders-sexually-assaults-her-2-year-old-step-daughter-for-throwing-tantrum-soiling-pants/
I was asked by A friend on twitter to do A blog about Lily. She is friends with Lily's mom via A FB support page.
I know very little about this case even though it is not far from me. All I can say is...What The Hell Is Wrong With These People??? I said it before and I will say it again for the millionth time, when you get married to someone with children they come as A packaged deal. Why does it seem the natural parent of these kids dont see warning signs that the step parent dislikes the child? I am A step mom of 2 and my husband is A step dad of 3. But we have 5 kids. There is no mine or yours. They are our kids.
I am not sure if this woman has kids of her own but I take it she has never heard the saying..."terrible 2's" At the age of 2 most children are trying to break out on their own and do things for them self. They hate being told NO you cant do that or NO you cant have that. I do not know of one child that has never in their life had a temper tantrum. My kids are grown and still pout if I say no to them.
And I am sure at the age of 2 Lily was not fully potty trained. What did this woman expect from A 2 year old? Someone on twitter said once, there should be some kind of A test before you are allowed to be A parent. It is holding true even more about being allowed to be A step parent.
A bitter sweet victory. http://www.ksee24.com/news/local/Stepmother-Guilty-in-Sex-Assault-Murder-of-2-Year-Old-140784603.html?m=y&smobile=y
My heart goes out to the mother of this child. This is called A Flowering Heart Lily. I thought it would be perfect to say.....
R.I.P Lily.

Polly Klaas
http://klaaskids.org/
I wanted to do this blog on Polly for a few reason's. One, so she is never forgotten. And 2, I got A chance to meet her father via twitter and he is so polite and kind. I so admire what he has done for other children.
Thank goodness for social media the way it is now. The word gets out much faster and more people see it with in minutes. It is A shame that it takes tragedies to make people aware of the growing amount of sick people in the world. And that it takes this kind of case to make laws to protect our children and keep them safer from predictors. I have lost count on how many new laws have been put in place due to the lost of such beautiful children. Just as I am writing this blog, Marc Klaas (Polly's dad) just posted A video via twitter on A press conference in VA to ask the for the money to continue coming into a fund to continue the funding for Alicia's Law.
I can remember when I was young, we would go out in our pool at 1 AM just because we couldn't sleep. Now you have to be afraid to even step out your front door at 1 AM.
There are many organizations that could use volunteers in many areas. Please look for one in your area and help other children.
Marc I would like to say "Thank You" to you for allowing me to do this blog on your daughter.
BLESS YOU KLAAS FAMILY

JonBenet Ramsey

This is the first case that I can remember that really tugged at the worlds heart strings. How or why would someone kill such A beautiful little girl with so much talent? Was it due to Jealousy? Hatred? 16 years later still no answers.
I believe the only way this case will ever be solved is if the killer walks into the police station and tells them "I am the one that killed JonBenet."
So many people were jealous and I am sure hated JonBenet. She won just about every pageant she entered. Which makes for A large suspect pool. I am sure there were also family members upset about the time that Patsy spent with her daughter. The cost of the pageants and the bragging of all the wins. And then you have the possibility of A pervert that admired her for her beauty. Or just A total stranger that did it just because.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbOOXbK1mdI
Patsy died of cancer without the knowledge that she and her husband were both cleared as suspects. As friends and family mourned the death of Patsy. I am sure she was very happy to once again be with her daughter.
So many things in the case were botched by police, investigators etc. I have read the book "Who Killed JonBenet" And all the same questions still remain. If you have any information or recall anything about that evening please call the proper authorities.
RIP QUEEN JONBENET
MY OWN PERSONAL TAKE ON PAGEANTS AND STUDIOS
I am A mom of 2 girls that for many years modeled, took baton, jazz, pom-pom and acrobats. With the right teacher and the right studio competing can be healthy. It teaches self-esteem, manners, how to get along with others and how to work with others. It will also teach the child how to win with grace and how to lose gracefully. Not all pageants are like the ones you see on Toddlers and Tiara's. With the fake hair, fake eyelashes, fake fingernails, fake tans and the meanness of the parents. And not studios are like the Abby Lane in Dance Moms show. Abby is just down right mean. And to pin the kids against each other is just uncalled for. And the way the moms sit up in that room and are rude to each other, call each other names and belittle each others kids is just down right awful..
The studio we belonged to was like one big family. No matter if this was your childs first year there or have been there for 10 years all the kids are treated equal. All the moms have their own talents too, we loaned each other dresses, helped with outfits, costumes, make up, hair, travel to and from practice or to and from competitions. All the kids no matter what level you were from special beginner to elite practiced in the same gym all together when getting ready for a competition. Many of the advanced girls even taught the younger ones that were just starting out. The kids that competed against each other were very good friends. Had sleep overs, went to the mall together, etc. everything A normal child does. All of our kids are now all grown up. Some are married some with kids of their own and some moved across the US. But we still stay in touch via Facebook. The only thing i dont miss are the long drives to competitions and the 8 AM floor call. And i DO NOT miss listening to John Phillip Suza (spelling) Stars And Stripes For Ever. But i do miss seeing the girls.

Savannah Hardin
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4148231/Girl-9-is-run-to-death-by-gran-for-eating-chocolate-bar.html
I am so upset about this case, that I am almost at a lost for words. This poor 9 year old little girl was literally made to run until she dropped. All for eating A candy bar even though (according to step-mom and grandma) she knew she was not suppose to eat it. SHE WAS A CHILD!! At 9 years old what does she understand about her heath condition?
She had A bladder condition called "bladder reflux" (according to family members). Well I just looked it up, here is what I found. http://www.pedisurg.com/pteduc/vesicoureteral_reflux.htm Maybe I am not reading this article right but no where do I see that she was not allowed to have chocolate.
After she collapsed after running for 3 hours. 911 was finally called, caller said Savannah was having A seizure. After arriving to the E.R. It was noted that Savannah was severally dehydrated and dangerously low sodium.
Savannah's father was over seas and had to catch 8 different plains to get to his daughters bed side. He then had to make the choice to take her off life support because she was not going to pull through.
The most that would have happened after Savannah ate the candy bar was MAYBE wet her pants. This little girl had to die just because they were afraid she MIGHT wet her pants. WTH????
I have an Autistic 19 year old that takes Seroquel. He is not suppose to have grapefruits or anything containing grapefruit in it. It will counter react his medicine. Even if he would get into it, I would have to deal with it until the effects of the grapefruit wear off. You sit the child down and explain it to them. You DO NOT run them until they drop over.
Even after I watched Nancy grace cover this story 2 times and I have read the news articles on line, I am still at A lost for words as to why this had to happen.

Katherine "Kate" Phillips
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfgRldqW-U
Here is A case that has not been in the news for awhile. Baby Kate has been missing since July 2011.
Kate's father ( Shawn Phillips) was getting ready to leave for the military, so Kate's mother ( Courtland) wanted him to take A DNA test to prove he was the father so that she could collect money for Kate while Sean was gone.
Sean took the mother somewhere she needed to go, he then took her back to her apartment to get the baby stroller she needed. The DNA test was set for 1 P.M. Mom left Kate in the car with the dad while she ran up in her apartment to get the stroller. As soon as she made it into the apartment Sean took off with baby Kate in the car. She called 911 right away. The police came took the report. Sean was later found at his parents house, but there was no signs of Kate. While in the presents of his family he told the officer he had no idea what baby they were talking about. The police took him to the station where he finally admitted he had taken her some place safe and that she is still alive. Sean told the officers he did not want his parents to know he had A child.
Baby Kate cloths were found in Sean's pockets. But still no signs of Kate. Courtlands cell phone was also never found. She left it lay on the seat while she ran up for the strollers.
Sean wanted the baby to be put up for adoption because he didn't want his family to know about her and he did not want to be responsible for her. Courtland refused to give her up which caused A huge argument in the car. Kate's car seat and diaper bag were found in the trunk of Sean's car.

Ayla Reynolds
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/2011_1221all-out_effort_under_way_to_find_missing_maine_tot/
This adorable little girl is missing from Waterville Maine.
Ayla was in the care of her father while mother was in rehab. Mom trying to do the right thing by getting clean. She then goes for custody of Ayla and all of a sudden the little girl is "kidnapped". These kinds of stories are getting old and harder to handle. And once again CPS was involved in this case.
Here is an article about things that dont add up in this case.http://news.yahoo.com/did-ayla-reynolds-disappear-week-kidnapping-report-215100134.html
People need to stop harming these children. I understand not everyone is going to get along when it comes to the custody of children but harming the poor child that did not ask to be born has got to stop. I too went through custody battles but I wouldn't or could never hurt my own child to stop the other parent from seeing them. My husband says "I swear there has to be something in the water" when it comes to the way the younger generation is acting. The way some of them are acting is not the way they were raised. Even when our own kids do something stupid, my husband and I just look at each other and shake our heads and say "they were taught better".
